Well, I don't usually post journal entries here, but....
Everyone's posting about the new censorship. Wasn't SheezyArt formed to escape censorship? Didn't people start coming here to post what DeviantArt wouldn't allow? Oh the irony. And what's with the "subscription" thing?
Ok, here's I I feel about this. I'm pissed. This isn't about "OmFg i wAnNa 2 c hAWt yIfF!!!!!!1111", this is about knowing that not even SheezyArt is open to that kind of thing anymore. I've never drawn anything that would be classified as "adult", but it is, ahem, WASnice to have a site where art wasn't censored. I've noticed that half the people have left, and hopefully, the admins will learn something from that, but I doubt it.
Another concern I have is that making those rules will just add to more rules being made, completly ridicuolous rules. Take fanfiction.net. It was definatly one of the coolest websites around. But then they banned all NC-17 rated fanfics. Ok, I could live with that, I wasn't really that into that stuff at the time. Then they banned all fanfics based on real people. Could live with that too. Then they banned all non-stories. I was pissed, but could stand it. Then there was a lot less left, so I slowly stopped going to the site. A year after I left, I came back, fanscripts were banned. So what dumb rules will SheezyArt make next? Perhaps it will become just like DeviantArt? Then what's the point?
Am I leaving this site? I don't know, depends. Normally, when I leave a site, I just leave, with no warning or notes of why I left. But if I do leave this site, I'll tell. And the chances of me leaving are very possible.
